there's gotta be more to life...
than playing maplestory.
seems like alot of my family members have fell victim to this game, including my father, which frustrates me the most. just to give some examples to illustrate the situation:
my cousin, shunxiang, kept giving hints that he wanted to go home when we went to watch yanying's musical on thursday. reason? he wanted to play maplestory from 2pm to 4pm everyday because he has got some cash card that would enable him to gain double experience points if he plays during that period of time everyday. okay even his blogs have got pictures of maplestory posted up.
another cousin, yangzhi, looked sickly when his mother brought him out for shopping and bought alot of clothes for him. reason? he wanted to stay at home to play maplestory and looked sad when he actually got new clothes.
now my father. everyday i came home or when i wake up and if my father is at home...this is what i see on the computer screen:

or images similar to that. he even bothered to read guides on the internet and wrote down alot of notes on this game (unfortunately on the calender so that calender is kinda vandalised?!) and EVEN printed on whole stack of information regarding the monsters in maplestory. never see him so enthusiatic when i asked him to help me photocopy or print my notes or stuffs, or on other issues such as researching on the best digital camera to buy or even spending the time researching on the best stocks to buy (could earn some money better than wasting time) since i know he buys shares.
even if he spends the same amount of time maintaining and writing a blog...i bet he could be a famous blogger now.
or help my mother with the housework...maybe he could be gain some inspiration from doing the housework and come up with something creative or even set up a cleaning company.
or reading newspaper! he could have gained so much knowledge and share with us some of them.
or taking up a part-time job?! since he has said before that his job is boring and there is nothing much for him to do in his office lol. then he could have earned some extra money and gain REAL EXPERIENCES instead of gaining useless, worthless EXPERIENCE POINTS in the game.
or spent the time exercising. bet he could be a marathon runner by now and do singapore proud lol.
or pick up a musical instrument such as the guitar so that he could have entertained us and also teach me how to play it after learning. with the amount of time spent he could have already been an intermediate guitar player.
or reading some books and gaining more wisdom. bet he could even be some local writer by now judging by the time spent on the game.
i guessed some gaming to unwind is okay...but i think they are all truly addicted though they don't want to admit that they are.
but for now, guess that unless some cure for maple addiction is invented, all these would only be a fantasy.
even as i am typing this entry, the same old maplestory gaming interface is staring at me from the monitor beside me AGAIN. sighhhh.
